This season we have weaved Stupas (also called as Chortens) on our mufflers. Just like building Stupa is a powerful way to purify negative karma, weaving Stupas with blessings from the local deities is to purify our souls and of course to keep you warm.
If you have been to Ladakh, you must have definitely visited Shanti Stupa. And if you haven’t been, you would have surely seen pictures floating on internet. I visited SS in April 2013 and have been amazed by it’s powers since then.
Sitting majestically on a hilltop in Chanspa, Leh district, Ladakh, Shanti Stupa is a white domed Buddhist stupa. It is an elegant stupa built by Japanese monks to promote world peace and prosperity and to commomerate 2500 years of Buddhism. It has brightly coloured reliefs on its mid-levels and is topped by a spired white hemisphere. It is considered a symbol of the ties between the people of Japan and Ladakh.
The Stupa represents Buddha’s holy mind, DharmKaya, and each part of the Stupa shows the path to enlightenment.
